Introducing the cast of Survivor: One World!

CBS has revealed the cast of the 24th season of Survivor – Survivor: One World – premiering February 15. The tribes – Salani and Manono – are split by gender (first seen in Survivor: The Amazon) and for the first time, both tribes will be living in the same camp.
Notable for this season – the first little person in Survivor history, an ex-wife of a former NFL player, no previous players returning, and no Redemption Island twist. Also new this season: something Jeff Probst calls “Do It Yourself Challenges” – challenges that take place at camp without Probst to direct them. “They figure out how they’re going to run it, who’s going to participate, and then they run it…There’s no judge there. There’s no person to moderate it. You guys figure it out. We were hoping somebody might step up and decide to become the annoying host and say things like, ‘Pick up the pace! You dropped a coconut!’ And sure enough, that’s what happens.” Interestingly, these challenges take form of a sort of reward as well. According to Probst, “You have the question of, what do you do with all the materials from the challenge? In one case, we do a challenge with a gigantic rope and when you’re done, you have this massive rope and now you can utilize it in your camp somehow.”

From the CBS Press Release:
Two Tribes, Divided by Men vs. Women, Live Together on One Beach
Hit Television Series, Hosted by Emmy Award Winner Jeff Probst,
Premieres Wednesday, Feb. 15
CBS announced today the 18 castaways who will compete against each other on SURVIVOR: ONE WORLD when the Emmy Award-winning series returns for its 24th season, Wednesday, Feb. 15 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
SURVIVOR: ONE WORLD pushes the game to its limits, forcing the two competing tribes to share one beach. The castaways must fight the elements, adapt to their new surroundings and vie against each other to stay in the game or be voted out by their peers, all while living together on the same beach. Tribes, separated by men versus women, will have to decide whether to share their resources with each other or leave the opposing tribe to fend for themselves. This ultimate social game becomes even more difficult to navigate because alliances could be formed between members of different tribes much earlier, adding yet another layer of intrigue to this competitive game.
The 18 castaways will be divided into two Tribes of nine: the Salani Tribe and the Manono Tribe, named after islands in Samoa. Divided by men versus women, the tribes are comprised of individuals from all different backgrounds with the same ultimate goal: to outwit, outplay and outlast and ultimately be crowned Sole Survivor.
