Here’s everything you need to know about what happened in Survivor: One World Episode 4: “Bum-Puzzled”. Feel free to add your notes, thoughts, and questions.

Aired March 7, 2012, covering night 8 through night 11

Reward Challenge winner: Salani (reward: choice between comfort – pillows, blanket, & mattress, tarp to protect from rain, or luxury – donuts, coffee, sugar, creamer; they choose the tarp)

Immunity Challenge winner: Manono; surrenders immunity to Salani to be able to go to Tribal Council

Eliminated: Bill

Player notes:

  • Leif sleeps in a crate
  • Jonas proposes to Salani that Manono gets to use the net in exchange for half of the haul. Salani refuses; Jonas insists he doesn’t care, Kim finds him rude
  • Jeff gets after Alicia for smiling and laughing when recounting how badly she performed in the Immunity Challenge
  • When the issue of race came up between Colton and Bill at Tribal Council, Colton insisted he had black people in his life and, when asked who, he said his housekeeper

Friends & Foes:

  • Tarzan keeps calling Jonas “Jason” during the Reward Challenge
  • Leif reveals to Bill that Colton wanted to vote for him; Bill is very surprised
  • Michael tells Colton he saw Leif talking to Bill; Colton says “that little Munchkin is going to get knocked back to Oz”. Colton confronts Leif and tells him the “pretty much sealed (his) fate” and Leif seems upset by his mistake
  • Tree Mail indicates pairing off to solve a puzzle; Kat tells tribe she’s not good at puzzles and needs to be paired with someone who is and indicates she doesn’t think Alicia is, which angers Alicia
  • Bill tries to clear the air with Colton; Colton interrupted him and wanted nothing to do with him; Bill got testy and got in his face
  • Colton suggests to Jonas and Tarzan that they offer to go to Tribal Council instead of Salani and vote off Bill. Troyzan wants to do it to vote off Leif and Jonas is afraid to tell Colton it is a bad idea. Tarzan tells Leif he will be voted out in front of the entire tribe.
  • Colton and Bill’s enmity escalates into a sort of class war with Colton admitting he looks down on Bill for having an unsteady job; Tarzan gets extremely angry that race is a factor for judging anyone anywhere and insists that Colton is painted in the wrong light as being privileged

Other notes:

  • Salani falls way behind on 1st puzzle in Immunity Challenge and copies Manono’s completed puzzle
  • First instance in Survivor history where the tribe winning Immunity ends up going to Tribal Council

  • I can’t believe a gay guy would be so judgmental about someone because they don’t like they job they have. Colton really is a privileged snob. I thought he was entertaining up until this episode even though he was a jerk but I don’t like him now.

  • I heard that Colton leaves the game next week with an injury – he sprained his neck from all of that eye-rolling during Tribal Council.

  • Colton is despicable. Absolutely despicable.

And I cannot believe everyone went along with his plan. How STUPID is it to give up immunity?
