MASSAGE MOM RUBBED OUT — The Unofficial Guide to Survivor: Blood Vs. Water Episode 5
Here’s everything you need to know about what happened in Survivor: Blood Vs. Water Episode 5 — “The Dead Can Still Talk” – who won the challenges, who was voted of, who played well, and who is on the outs. Feel free to add your notes, thoughts, and questions.
Aired October 16, 2013, covering night 10 through night 13
Reward/Immunity Challenge winner: Tadhana (reward: steak, vegetables, spices, and a wok)
Voted Out: Laura M. – Her flirtations with Aras were pretty pathetic, but it’s still a bummer to see a strong challenge performer get the boot. This could lead to some pretty epic performances in Redemption Island challenges, though.
And isn’t that picture of Laura above weird? It looks like she somehow swung her feet up sideways next to her head, or that they were removed from her body and set next to her.
Eliminated: Candice – It was a good run for a player who, as Jeff noted, owned Redemption Island. But once her interactions with Brad ended, so did anything she brought to this game.
Hayden – We thought Hayden had a good head for this game but then he went and blamed Caleb for “screwing” him, seemingly forgetting that he cast a turning vote that caused the revote in the first place. Wake up, kid.
Katie – Katie’s toenails falling off might be the most disturbing thing that has ever happened in Survivor history.
Aras – Again, Aras is keenly aware of what is going on in the game, the consequences of all possible actions, plays made on him, and the perception others have of him. But it looks like he needs to have a watchful eye on Tyson…
Laura B. – Laura B. did more to annoy us in 5 minutes of this one episode than the rest of the game. Even her self confidence her in non-existent place in this tribe was annoying. We can’t even imagine how annoying her confessionals might be next week, because there’s little doubt she will misread her status in her tribe based on this vote. Ugh.
Caleb – Look who’s sitting pretty here. He makes a gutsy move, everyone is clamoring to be his best friend, and the move pays off when his tribe wins their first challenge after 13 days. Still, it’s hard to have much confidence in a player who basks so much in their own glory when they know how quickly the game can change. For his own sake, he needs to be more humble.
John won the Redemption Island challenge and elected to give the Hidden Immunity Idol clue to Monica for the second straight challenge, who, again, threw it into the fire.
Tadhana’s victory was their first challenge win this season
