TINA TOSSED, VYTAS OUT — The Unofficial Guide to Survivor: Blood Vs. Water Episode 9
Here’s everything you need to know about what happened in Survivor: Blood Vs. Water Episode 9 — “My Brother’s Keeper” – who won the challenges, who was voted of, who played well, and who is on the outs. Feel free to add your notes, thoughts, and questions.
Aired November 13, 2013, covering night 21 through night 24
Immunity Challenge winner: Monica (1st challenge), Katie (2nd challenge)
First Voted Out: Vytas – We love to see players strategizing when their backs are against the wall, and Vytas offering Tyson a Final 3 vote in exchange for staying in the game was smart. It might not have held much sway, but he was playing the cards he had. Calling out Tyson and Gervase as the heads of their alliance was another smart move. Sad to see smart moves wasted when others are still in who won’t or can’t make moves like that.
Second Voted Out: Tina – Doesn’t it drive you nuts to see a player like Tina get blindsided and then turn around and throw a hissy fit and whine about jury votes? If you get had, you play it like Vytas – respect the move and start plotting your revenge. Tina gave up, even going so far as to tell Katie to leave her behind and move ahead in the game. Pretty pathetic.
Monica – Monica is so likable, and to see her suck it up and eat those grubs to win immunity – that was impressive. As far as her paranoia goes, who can fault her for seeing scrambling and connecting it with her Immunity Challenge win? It’s hard to believe any of them would think any differently were they in her position. What we can’t understand is “rocking the boat,” as Gervase put it. And we’re not sure we’re completely buying the talk of her being on the bottom. She’s not particularly liked within the alliance, and if it can be determined that she’s less liked than any of the two-person alliances she might make a good final 3 opponent.
Ciera – Ciera didn’t make much of a mark in this episode but you can see her learning and observing, realizing what she has to do to move ahead in this game. She seems to have good relationships with a lot of people and, as we saw in the preview for next week, she’s not afraid to throw mom under the bus.
Tyson – It’s got to be hard to bite your tongue and play along with everyone’s paranoia when you know you have the idol and the running around and scheming isn’t necessary, but Tyson did a good job.
