LAURA LOPPED -- The Unofficial Guide to Survivor: Blood Vs. Water Episode 10

Here’s everything you need to know about what happened in Survivor: Blood Vs. Water Episode 10 — “Big Bad Wolf” – who won the challenges, who was voted of, who played well, and who is on the outs. Feel free to add your notes, thoughts, and questions.

Aired November 20, 2013, covering night 24 through night 26

Immunity/Reward Challenge winner:  Monica C. (traded food reward for ability to keep Immunity)

Voted Out: Laura M. – As a parent you always struggle with the reality of seeing your kid grow up and not need you anymore, but Laura got a big face full of it all at once. And to her credit, she didn’t fight it and she took it with grace. But the cool thing was that she most certainly did not roll over and give up – she made some great points at Tribal Council to support keeping her in the game (to Ciera’s chagrin). That fighting spirit will make her time at Redemption Island interesting.

Eliminated: Aras – What a sad and somewhat pathetic end to Aras’s game. He was clearly dominant early in this game within his tribe, and he was one of the most dominant players ever seen in this game in his original season. But he was slapped in the face and went out with barely a whimper.

Player Notes:

Tyson – Once again, Tyson proves that he is just about the only person with the brains and willingness to make big plans and moves in this game. But it always raises a red flag when you hear someone refer to someone as disposable or not a threat and talking about being home free this early in the game.

Ciera – Tyson might be the only person with the cajones to make the big moves, but Ciera comes close when it comes to having her head in the game and knowing the hard decisions that have to be made to do what she has to do. CBS really played up the emotional aspect of this decision and it did not disappoint. That’s a hard conversation to have with someone that you aren’t even friends with – how hard is it to say that to your own mom?

But more impressive was Ciera’s quick thinking in getting Katie to admit that she didn’t have the Hidden Immunity Idol. And even more impressive than that was realizing that even with that great bit of information it was better to not do anything with it and stick with her alliance.

Monica C. – Monica’s Challenge performance was impressive. She was almost in a zen-like state for most of the challenge, proving the importance of mind over matter as compared to brute strength in many of these challenges.

I like Laura. I like that she wants her daughter to succeed but she is not going to just hand her the keys to the car. Her attitude is what will be Tyson’s downfall. Where there is a will there is a way and as long as there is a chance there is opportunity.
