VYTAS VETOED, CALEB CROSSED — The Unofficial Guide to Survivor: Blood Vs. Water Episode 11
Here’s everything you need to know about what happened in Survivor: Blood Vs. Water Episode 11 — “Gloves Come Off” – who won the challenges, who was voted of, who played well, and who is on the outs. Feel free to add your notes, thoughts, and questions.
Aired November 27, 2013, covering night 26 through night 29
Immunity/Reward Challenge winner: Monica
Voted Out: Caleb - It could only be Caleb’s likability that got him voted out, because it certainly wasn’t his strategic mind. He basically rode the coattails of Tyson and, to a lesser extent, Hayden, and didn’t do the smart thing and talk Hayden out of his cockamamie plan to vote out Tyson before it was time. Now he has to look forward to a stint on Redemption Island against the best puzzle-solver this game has ever seen and her pet she gives the answers to.
Eliminated: Vytas - Seeing Laura working hard to get rid of Vytas was a pretty unexpected and clear indicator of what kind of threat and player he was. Unlike Aras, who went out with a whimper, Vytas was a hard player who played a great social game. He simply could not be allowed to get any further in the game.
Ciera - Ciera successfully inserted herself smack dab into the middle of a huge alliance implosion and made herself an indispensable ally to Tyson. Unfortunately through carelessness (namely by not keeping her alliance with Tyson on the down low) she can’t play an effective double agent and has limited her value. The cockiness that is starting to show will very likely be her downfall, and she needs to change her approach to the game.
Katie – Things have turned around in a major way for Katie. We can’t see it lasting, but considering how much of a sure thing her ouster was just days ago, for virtually no heat to be on her at this point is pretty amazing. It is essential for her to try and partner up with somebody – anybody – and pray that her mom makes it out of Redemption Island.
Monica – Once again, Monica impresses with her challenge performance. She won, sure, but while even the strongest players struggled with the weight of the buckets she kept calm and in a zen-like state – proving once again that mind over matter is essential in this game.
Hayden – We wondered all throughout the episode how long it would take to approach Tyson and just say Ciera was lying…which he kind of did, but he went about it all wrong. All he had to do was convincingly lie and Tyson’s paranoia would have taken care of the rest. Instead, he admitted that he went behind his ally’s back.
Tina – Hey – you’ll take whatever you can get in this game, but having Laura spoon feed her the puzzle solution was nothing short of pathetic. Her chances of escaping Redemption Island are only as strong as Laura’s disdain for whomever they find themselves up against in challenges.
Ciera, Tyson, and Gervase chose to sit out the Immunity/Reward Challenge to take part in a barbecue dinner.
