CLIFF WHIFFS -- The Unofficial Guide to Survivor: Cagayan Episode 4

Here’s everything you need to know about what happened in Survivor: Cagayan Episode 4 — “Odd One Out” – who won the challenges, who was voted of, who played well, and who is on the outs. Feel free to add your notes, thoughts, and questions.

Aired March 19, 2014, covering night 11 through night 14

Reward Challenge winner:  Solana (coffee & food/pastries)

Immunity Challenge winner:  Appari

Voted Out: Cliff – In retrospect it was not hard to see this coming. LJ looms much larger in this game than Cliff did, and Trish is too absolutely infatuated with him to let him be left behind. Cliff didn’t really have a presence in the game, and what little he did have really rubbed Tony the wrong way.

Player Notes:

Tasha, Kass, & Spencer

Things could not have changed more drastically for Tasha, Spencer, & Kass, eh? This is one of the most significant example of things turning around in this game, and for it to happen to a group of three people – it’s incredibly significant. Not only did they win, but the three of them are up against three players all from another tribe – and, amazingly, all three pled their case to join them and turn on their former tribe mates.

The smart choice for the former Brain tribe is obviously Morgan, who has no alliance left in this game and is probably least likely to turn on them at the merge. They key to her survival in this game will be her ability to convince them that Alexis and Jeremiah can’t be trusted, and that she is one of them. It’s not hard to see how two older women and one younger man could likely perceive Morgan at this point, and she needs to be able to overcome that. The first step will be to clear the air following the revelation of her lack of honesty regarding the Hidden Immunity Idol clue.

So what does Tony think is going to happen now? He successfully feigned an alliance with Cliff to this point – one which he could have turned around on its head at pretty much any point. Instead he weakened his own alliance and straightened his enemy’s. There’s no way he has any measure of control in this new alliance, and he can’t expect that LJ will bring him aboard at the merge. So what is he thinking?

Other Notes:

The players were split into two new tribes:

Appari – Sarah, Spencer, Morgan, Kass, Tasha, Jeremiah, & Alexis

Solana – Woo, Cliff, Trish, Jefra, LJ, Lindsey, & Tony
