Survivor: Amazon’s Heidi Strobel, Cole Hamels welcome first baby

Former Survivor: The Amazon castaway Heidi Strobel and her husband, Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels, welcomed their first baby, born during game 2 of the National League Divisional Series, in which Cole was pitching.

Cole left the game after receiving a text from Heidi which read, “I’m in the hospital going into labor. Could you please tell Cole as soon as he is done pitching?” in the 5th inning after giving up 4 runs and 7 hits

Cole and Heidi met 2 years ago when she threw out the first pitch at a minor league game. They married on December 31, 2006.

Dear Mr & Mrs Hamels,

Congratulations on the arrival of your new baby son. I am a fan of “Survivor” and remember Heidi on the show.

I am also a Phillies fan and wish you “Good Luck” with pitching and hopefully a World Series Victory.
